I am currently a CEHG (Centre for Computational, Evolutionary and Human Genomics) postdoctoral fellow working with Tad Fukami at Stanford University in California, USA.

Before joining the Fukami lab in October 2015, I did a PhD (2011-2015) with David Keith in the Centre for Ecosystem Science at UNSW Australia; a Masters of Environmental Science and Law at the University of Sydney, Australia (2011); and a BSc (Hons) Ecology with Jeremy Midgley and Tony Verboom at the University of Cape Town, South Africa (2002-2005).

In the years I spent outside the sanctuary of academia from 2006-2010, I worked alternately as an ecological consultant (Surrey, UK), a scientific writer for Wildscreen’s ARKive project (Bristol, UK), a freelance science journalist (Sydney, Australia), and a cleaner at a ski resort (Alberta, Canada).
